I Can Sporting Communities Tournament at Woodlands, Derby
July 2016

The ladies played in local hockey day tournament. Promoted by the "I Can" and "This Girl Can" campaign. The 6-a-side team played in the tournament on possible the hottest day of the year and although we did not win. We were still pleased with our medals and the black shirts for taking part.

Hockey Fest on Tour Nottingham
August 2016
Club entered our first mixed tournament. Held in Nottingham team played 6 a-side mini games through a hot summers day and won the mixed tournament. England Hockey organised the event and publicised our victory on social media. Team very pleased with their first result and even got presented with a silver cup.
Hockey Festival weekend Swindon Summer 6's Super Hero Tournament

The ladies team entered their first 6-a-side tournament. A fun and social weekend the got stuck in with the spirit of the super hero theame. Playing hockey in super women tops. The team managed to win the plate and best dressed team.

We are already on the look out for next years venue!
Back To Hockey Sessions
May 2016
Following the success in 2015 we again signed up to England Hockey's campaign to encourage players to return to the game. This year we opened the sessions up to juniors, Men and ladies.
​
6 Weeks of basic skills and fun activities attracted a small number of people to the club. The adults have continued develop through the year and most now play in a team with the club.

Ladies Season 2015/16 ends
March 2016

After a full year of coaching and new players joining the team this season. The ladies despite a rocky start to the season worked really hard and finished 3rd in the league.

At the end of the best season I have ever had with the team. 85 goals, 9 consecutive wins & finishing 3rd in the league. In my 23 years of playing with the club we have never done so well. Fantastic ! "

AGM - Club committee changes

This year meeting marked the end of an era for the club. Our ladies Captain (Jo) and Secretary (Elaine) stepped down from their roles. Both completing over 20 years in the roles for the club. #VolunteersMakeHockeyHappen
